will ddr 500 work on a ddr 400 board?

i want to overclock the fsb on my desktop for fun but the ddr 400 ram is limiting me . i know ddr 1 is old and so is my desktop but it is for fun. i found some ddr 500 on ebay .here are the specs

Yes it will but it will be downclocked to 400!

G.Skill RAM is DDR RAM with CAS Latency of 1. It will work in your system. If you are going to use this RAM along with the existing 400MHz RAM then ensure that both are compatible i.e both have same timings, otherwise you can have compatibility problem.

When combined, the DDR 500MHz will reset to the mobo's defaults (You've not mentioned the mobo)

i have an oem lenovo 3000 j series pc . i dont know the motherboard as it is also oem . i have an amd sempron 3000+ 1.8ghz socket 754
