Hey everyone,

So I've been having a fairly sizable issue with my new GPU that I just purchased, hoping someone else here would have some insight as to what the issue may be. Been working at it on my own for about 12 hours so far, and counting.

I just recently purchased a GTX 780Ti Super Clock from EVGA to replace my Gigabyte GTX 680 SOC. I received it yesterday and immediately installed it and noticed right away on startup that my mobo splash screen had become unresponsive, and boot times had almost tripled to around 3 minutes from off to fully functional.

Today however, I purchased a Samsung 480Gb SSD (Evo850) to replace my barracuda as a primary drive and 32 gigs of G-Skill Ripjaw X's (9-11-11-31 @2133) to replace my older 16gigs of ripjaws; as soon as I installed it all, my computer completely ceased being able to boot at all.

Here's the bottom line problem, in sequence:
1) power on
2) motherboard splash screen appears, unresponsive for 30 seconds to a minute
3) switches to static black screen, where it will stay until I manually power the rig down

I've tried the following to attempt to remedy the issue:
- remove all GPU drivers from machine
- install various drivers for the GPU (334.89, 334.67, 332.21)
- switch GPU between PCIe slots
- change the power cables connected to the GPU (needs 1x 6pin and 1x 8pin)
- cry a little bit
- replace RAM with old GSkills
- remove all hard drives save the SSD from machine
- remove all wires from rig and re-wire everything
- cry a little bit more
- replace GTX 780Ti with EVGA GTX 760
- replace SSD with old Barracuda hard drive

Now the 780 works fine... in my friend's rig. he brought his over and he has a TUF motherboard, I'm not exactly sure what model however. It was his 760 that I tried to use in place of my 780, which means I'm likely having this issue with 700 series cards in general. or something.

I put the 680 back in now and everything works good as new without a problem under the sun. Below is my rig's specs under it's current operational status:

[Motherboard]: Gigabyte X79-UP4
[Power Supply]: AzzA 1000W Titan
[Processor]: Intel Core i7 3820 (Quadcore @ 3.6Ghz)
[Processor Cooler]: Corsair H60 Water Cooler
[Graphics Card]: Gigabyte GTX 680 Super Overclocked
[Random Access Memory]: 32Gb (4x8) GSkill RipJaws
[Hard Drives]:
-480Gb SSD (Samsung 850EVO)
-2.0 Tb Barracuda (10,000rpm) SATA III
-4.0 Tb SATA II (7,200rpm) SATA II
-1.0 Tb WD (7,200rpm) SATA II
[Sound Card]: Creative SoundBlaster Z
[Operating System]: Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit

Well I'm not sure what happened, but I managed to boot up on my 780 with all the new hardware... Took a while to start and my MOBO splash was still unresponsive, but I believe it may have something to do with the power rails. I will continue investigating...

---

Edit:
I managed to get a somewhat steady boot sequence when I use double female "Y" shaped power adapters:

2x 4 Pin (from same rail) -> 8 Pin into GPU
1x 6 pin directly into GPU

Even though I'm able to boot up, I still cannot access BIOS post or quick flash options.

The Gigabyte screen at the beginning of the boot sequence appears to freeze if I push any buttons on my keyboard, which will eventually send it to a black screen forever

If I do not push any buttons during the boot seq, it takes ~90 seconds to leave the Gigabyte screen and load windows

Purchased a new PSU which would hopefully eliminate the issue, if it's power related that is. Got an EVGA SuperNova 1000w Platinum. Will update tomorrow with any changes when the PSU arrives.
Hopefully it's just because the AzzA is a bronze standard and non modular, I'm thinking it has to do with the fact that I have to use adapters to get the correct power connectors... we shall see.
