So, I just got a new computer with 2 EVGA 780 TI Superclocked cards.

Specs:

Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
Corsair 1000 w gold rated PSU
64 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 2133 mhz RAM
3.6 gHz i7 4960X OC'd to 4.6 gHz (6/12 core/hyper-threaded) water-cooled
EVGA Superclocked 780 TI's SLI'd
2x 256 Samsung EVO SSD's
1x 1 TB Samsung EVO SSD

All that to say I'm getting anywhere from 66-160 FPS in BF4. Depending on the map.

64 players on ultra with intense explosions and tanks it runs smooth but can drop to 66 fps but then suddenly to 140-155 fps. I'm just wondering if this fluctuation is normal and if these are laughable frame rates for such a beastly system.

All drivers are up to date and I've run GPU-Z which shows my cards running at 16X v. 3.0 when in game.

It also shows gpu usage at 40% in game which makes me wonder if its self throttling to save energy as if its not running wide open. If even possible.

I also checked affinity using the task manager and all "12" cores are being used.

I just wonder if it's the game or some setting I'm missing or maybe I'm an idiot.

Anyway, please only helpful comments.

Thanks

What monitor do you have? if it is 60hz just put Vsync on and the framerate will be more stable.

to correctly answer you no its not. I get 80-200fps on a single 780ti classified. If you are running sli 780ti's your fps really shouldn't go under 120 at any point in the game. Make sure you have latest drivers for you gpu and motherboard and also that you have sli enabled in the nvidia control panel.

so you are running 780's in sli and not the 780ti's? Even then you should not be going under 120fps on ultra at any point in time even during the heaviest gun fights.

put all your hardware at factory settings and take off all the overclocks. Even try backing down your ram to 1866 or 1600 and give it a go. Also you are sure you have sli enabled in the control panel?

Go into the game settings and see if your scaling is at 100%. Geforce experience set it to 200 on my rig.

Frames: 11839 - Time: 120000ms - Avg: 98.658 - Min: 81 - Max: 118
This is my reference 780 ti at stock clock speeds in BF4 multiplayer ultra settings 1080p 100% scaling. At 200 it drops to 40-50 fps.
