Either 2 sticks (same colored slots) or 4 sticks (all filled) runs dual channel with the same sticks, the DRAM itself doesn't care, it's the config and the MC that decide
Only quad-channel chipsets (currently only X79, for LGA2011) can run quad-channel RAM. Other boards will still run at dual channel speeds.
If the RAM sticks are the same size, it should work. It's not recommended, though.
1.so if im only using 1 channel on dual channel motherboard still not problem right?
2.so dual channel will works even if i buy same ram separately(not in 1 package, but still same ram type)?
Yes, you can use quadchannel ram's in dualchannel configuration and dualchannel in singlechannel
If your motherboard supports dualchannel. Filling up with 4 dimms will make them run in dualchannel.
Hope this helped
As mentioned above, there's no guarantee the sticks will all play together, even if the packages are the exact same model, it can still (and often is) be problematic
