Hi guys, new to posting on this forum but having been raking through it recently trying to find an answer to my question.

I have a HP Pavilion G6 2240ea laptop which came preinstalled with Windows 8.
I formatted the hard drive and installed Windows 7 from my disk.
I have done this with a few of my laptops and always the ethernet driver has remained, so I simply plug it into the router, run windows update and it will update all the drivers.

However when I plug this laptop into the router it doesn't connect to the internet and there is no wireless network adapter drivers either so I can't use the wireless. I bought a USB wifi network adapter with the driver CD however that still doesn't seem to work after running the autorun installer on the CD.

Anybody know where I can find the drivers for ethernet/wifi adapter? I've checked the HP support website and tried 3 different types, none of them work and I've tried phoning too but they're no use.

Thanks!

No compatible driver is the problem - you shouldn't have downgraded the laptop to Windows 7.
If HP have no Windows 7 drivers for that model you should have left it running Windows 8.
You are supposed to check manufacturer's drivers before upgrading or downgrading the OS.
You've just been lucky in the past with your other computers, but not this time.
