Solution
At full load on stock settings the stock cooler can barely keep this CPU below 60c. 79c is bad and may indicate a mounting problem.

If you are on a budget I can tell you from personal experience the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO would be a good pick in the $35 range. It can handle an FX8350 with up to a 4.4GHz OC on stock or near-stock voltage and keep this CPU at or below 56c.

If you want to spend more, a Noctua NHD14 or Phanteks TC14PE will run in the $80 range and drop you another 2-3c.

If you want to spend a bit more, a Corsair H100i (2x120mm fans) or NZXT X60 (2x140mm fans) will run in the $110 range and drop you another 2-3c, but be slightly louder than the Noctua or Phanteks under load.

I would start by getting an aftermarket cooler, the $30 Cooler Master Hyper 212 is all you need. For reference I run my 8320 with the TX3, which is the same cooler only with 92mm fans instead of 120mm. Mine maxes out around 42C under load.

Like mace and maddogfargo said, the Hyper 212 EVO is your best bet. It cools really well. Also, make sure you have enough case fans to move fresh air through, or a new CPU cooler will be pointless.

I would suggest a new CPU cooler like the CM 212 evo + a 120mm (or 140mm if you case supports) as an intake fan.
