What is the main use of your RAM? 90% of users need 2x4gb 1600.

Typical old fashion surfing no games..last time i bought memory was 5 years ago or so..for DDR2, but I do not recall anything about 240....nor 1300,1866 and etc. other that i know the latter is speed...but that 240 puzzles me. Also, are those speeds interchangeable on the same board? What does that 2x4gb stand for? 2 sticks of 4gb each? Also I've noticed as i type this, to my right I see all kinds of memory being sol very cheaply, perhaps by previous owners?

In your case just buy 2 sticks of 4B RAM 1600 or 1866MHz. Get this:
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($76.50 @ Newegg)
Total: $76.50

WOW for a guy on a budget that is too high...i was planning on 4gb for max of any kind of memory

then get 1 stick of 4gb 1600 or 1866. You could always add more later if you want it.
