I remove my Optical drive from laptop and change it to Caddy, put a 2nd hard disk, the BIOS can detect the hdd in port 1 or 2 ( my primary is an SSD in port 0)

Windows installation can detect also the HDD in caddy, but cannot boot.

The "boot menu" in bios only show my SSD name, but in main page as i said it show those two drives.

is it a caddy problem ?

More about : boot 2nd hdd caddy

Has the drive been formatted as a boot drive as opposed to a storage device?

I'm assuming you want to put a different OS in the second SSD for a dual boot installation. Try removing the drive you're currently booting from and replacing it with the second drive. Then install the second OS in that drive formatting the drive when prompted to do so. If the install goes well you can then move the new drive to the secondary location and re-install your primary boot drive. You may need to change some BIOS settings when switching drives around.

this is what my BIOS looks like. its too limited of settings, i cant even choose which port i wanted to boot first, or which drive, i believe the SATA CD is where my Caddy is, but as you can see in the BOOT SEQUENCE picture there is nothing in there, but there is in MAIN.

This is a major reason why I don't like store bought computers especially portables. The OEM can alter the BIOS and sometimes the boot sector of the HDD to do things that benefit them but disallow the owner from customizing. You say that Windows detects the second drive but that you can't boot from it. Why do you want to boot from the second drive? Upon re-reading your original post it seems like what you're trying to do is to replace your original HDD with an SSD which you appear to have successfully accomplished. Now you've relocated the original HDD in a slot that the OEM had designated for the optical drive. It doesn't really matter what that the BIOS still calls it a CD drive. It's a SATA device and is being detected by Windows. If you're now trying to access the data on the old drive you don't need to boot from it to do so. In a non-altered BIOS there is a "custom boot menu" that can be accessed by repeatedly pressing a particular function key (F1-F12). When the menu appears you can pick from the available bootable devices. This function may not be available to you if your OEM has altered the BIOS to preclude dual boot. If I were you I would go to the OEM's website and see if they have a forum where users exchange info like this. Nobody else has posted an answer so I'm thinking your problem may be specific to your brand of computer. You might also do a google search for the model number to find a forum.
