I have 3ware 9500-8MI and 9550-12MI hardware RAID cards (PCI-X 133MHz/64-bit). Bought them way back in the mid 2000's. ANYWAY, does anyone have any experience using these cards in the following manner? The 8MI would be tasked with up to eight 4TB "SLED's" for archival storage (each 4TB unit split into two 2TB partitions) and the 12MI would get up to 12 drives. The OS would run on a small 128GB SSD.

Over many, many years, the cards processed an unimaginable amount of HD video data that was edited for later presentation. Now, I could hopefully use them to increase the number of SATA ports and drives in some server cases that I have.

Thanks for any thoughts.

that is a pretty old Raid Card. I can't find anything about those two. First off i doubt they will support 4Tb hard drives. Also you need a 64bit OS to be able to use the whole 4Tb drive which i don't know if they are support on anything besides XP/server 2003 64bit (Couldn't find anything else on them)

and they only support SATA I speeds. Are you running this in a server or a motherboard with a PCI-X slot?
