Hi, I'm currently buying parts for a new gaming rig. So far, I have a Rosewill green series 630W PSU, A Thermaltake Armor Revo case, 4GB ADATA XPG RAM, a ASRock Pro3 Z77 Mobo, two 200mm fans, and two 120mm fans. I already have a monitor and periphirals (keyboard, mouse, headphones, etc.) but I was wanting help with picking a processor and GPU. My goal is to be able to max out games (except for AA) on a 1920x1080 monitor. Also, I could use some advice on peripheral cards, a hard drive(s), cd drives, and any thing else.

Ok. If you can stretch $55 then you can get this deal with GTX 770 and 8GB RAM:

Also, I'd like to be able to use 4x MSAA or, at the very least, FXAA, in addition to maxed-out post-processing effects (lighting, DoF, particles, etc), shadows, and texture quality and filtering. So choose a GPU accordingly.

To make sure I'm understanding you correctly, do you already have all of these components, but you don't have a CPU, GPU, and hard drives.
Additionally, what kind of budget do you have?

Yes, that's right. My budget is between $500 to $600 to finish the build. As far as the CPU goes, all I care about is whether or not it will bottleneck whatever GPU you reccomend, so cheaper is better. However, I would like it to be an i5 or higher, not an i3. I'm a quad core kinda guy.

Consider these options under $600. I've assumed that you only need CPU, GPU and Hard Drive. Let me know if you need any change:

That's good, but it's a Z77 board, it doesn't support a 4th gen Intel, only Sandy bridge and Ivy bridge.

Would a GTX 760 work for 1080p gaming or would I have to sacrifice some post-processing effects? I can cut out AA, honestly it's the lowest item on my agenda.

EDIT: Get another 4GB stick of RAM in the near future. You can multitask a lot better if you do.

I will, I just need to get it up and running ASAP, so 4GB will need to hold me over for now. I was thinking about getting an i5-3470 and not gaming until I can afford the GPU. Would the 3470 bottleneck a 770?

Scratch 4 gigs of ram. It's not enough. Windows 8 alone hogs a good half of that.... Get a MINIMUM of 8 gigs, but preferably 16, considering your budget. Be sure it's a dual channel kit if you have dual channel cpu compatibility. A-data isn't a bad brand, but G-skill is the best, followed by corsair and it's rivals.

Also be sure you get a SSD. You don't need a huge one if you want to save money, a 128 or 250 gig samsung evo series will do you wonders.

That mobo runs a 1155 socket. If you want to keep that, pick out a cpu that runs on that socket off newegg by setting your price range and sorting by ratings.. Just pick the top one, they are all high quality if you pick the best in tier for that price range. Alternatively, since the CPU and GPU will be the bulk of the cost anyway, you could invest in a new mobo with a 1150 socket and it would support more future upgrades as well. Personally, I'd do that and keep this board for a media station rig or something.

The fans and other stuff are more or less just a matter of preference, just be sure to follow the manuals and install them properly and you'll be fine.

Sorry for late reply dear. Ditch your current 4GB RAM. It is not good enough. Check these options: -

This is with GTX 760 which still can give you a very good performance in gaming. RAM is 8GB with CAS Latency of 9 @ 1600 MHz. This is sufficient for your requirements.

Let me know if you desire some change. Check NewEgg for their current offering in promotion/sale :)
