choosing between 2 video cards

Also, what are you using these cards for? Gaming? Rendering/video editing? The 660 will still give you better frame rates in most games but while using quite a bit more power and taking up more space in your case.

Here are some results from the Toms benchmarking of the new card:

It's important to remember that the Maxwell chips will see improved frame rates as drivers improve, alongside the 600/existing 700 series.

If you want a card for the same price as the 750 Ti with more power, the PNY GTX 650 Ti BOOST is awesome. You can max out a lot of games at 1080p without AA with that card.

I also recommend Intel CPU's, but that would mean you would have to change out your motherboard as well. AMD's GPU's work well with their processors, but you can get an Nvidia card to work just as well if not better. The R9 270X is a great card. If you have the money, go with that. Later, I'd suggest upgrading to a 6350. I don't think it would be good for your PSU if you went with an 8320. You'd need to upgrade both your PSU and your CPU together.

Flux, his PSU has plenty of power, as long as it isn't from a crappy brand. An 8320 and 270x would run just fine on 500w. And GPU/CPU matchup has NO EFFECT on performance.

OP, if you don't want to upgrade your motherboard as well, a 4300/4350 or 6300/6350 would be a great upgrade. The Bulldozer series (the 41XX) is much worse than the new Vishera platform.

Gonna echo a bit here.

The 8320 is probably the best AMD CPU for value's sake. The R9 270X is also a great GPU for what you need as well.

However I do agree that if you can, you should look into the switch to Intel. I've recently switched from AMD to Intel and I'm very happy with that decision. I'm not bashing AMD in any way, shape or form as I believe they do make great CPUs but I personally prefer Intel over AMD for what I do.

Here's a theoretical comparison between the GTX 660 and the R9 270X. http://www.hwcompare.com/15671/geforce-gtx-660-vs-radeon-r9-270x/

Good luck!
