Hi All,

I'm beginning to pop my PC build cherry and was hoping I could get some advice in relation to the compatibility of the parts I've selected. The most I wanted to spend was £600.00 and still be able to play Battlefield 4 on a relatively high setting (ambitious I know)

This was the setup I'm thinking of going with

along with this Aerocool case

I've heard great things about the responses people get from the forum's so would appreciate an opinion on whether this build would work or not.

Thanks All...

Looks nice !
Personally I would take an i5 though, but it will be a few pounds over budget :p. (My opinion)

Amd is great for BF4, also because of the mantle function =)
If you google r9 270x vs gtx 760 you will find out that the 760 is a bit better overall, but it doesn't have mantle ^^ (it has shadowplay though, I really think this is a nice addition to have).

I'm not sure if the MB is good though, it seems a bit cheap. You should try double checking that.

The r9 270x will run BF4 on high settings (probably even ultra), no doubt. I play on a Phenom x4 955 + ati radeon 5850 and I never drop below 40 on med. settings. On high I drop to about 30-40 depending on the map / amount of players.

Ps: If you plan on recording, I'd trow in a small SSD to fit the budget. Just to put the operating system on. This will speed up the PC + decrease lagg spikes while recording --> You will always experience laggspikes if you try recording to the same storage device as your operating system is installed on.

I have a gtx 760 in my rig which is only supported by an i7 860 and 8gb ram. I would say for BF4 on max all I get about 50fps on average. High all it ranges from 45 to mid 80s. My honest opinion is to get AMD cpu and nvidia graphics card unless BF4 is the only game you're playing. Your parts picker link didn't work for me either btw.

The PCP link will work if you copy the url and paste it in a new tab, couldn't open it either at first...

Also, I think you are right about the GPU switch from AMD to NVidia. The newer Nvidia GPU's have more options compared to AMD, + untill not the only game optimised with AMD's mantle is BF4...

Thanks BnG. Now that I've looked at your list I like it. I kinda agreed regarding the i5 upgrade however the upgrade to an nVidia gpu would still be my #1 priority if you don't plan on doing anything regularly with this rig but game/surf the web.

Although I have an AMD GPU, I prefer Nvidia atm (especially the gtx 760-770). For gaming, just go with the best GPU for the money... AMD has mantle (which will hopefully be supported by a lot of games in the future) and Nvidia has shadowplay and something else (similar to mantle if I'm correct).

It all depends on your preference...

My CPU is worse compared to the FX-8320. I can play about every game with my Phenom x4 955 + ati radeon 5850 though, so you should be fine either way ^^.
