Hello all,

I recently purchased a new MSI Geforce GTX 760 that I have connected to my 50' smart tv that I use as the monitor in the living room. For some reason any time I turn the TV off and turn it back on the computer loses the signal from the computer to the TV. It only occurs with the GTX 760, the onboard graphics card doesn't have this problem.

The only way for me to regain the signal is to turn the PC off, take the card out, power up the PC with the onboard card, turn the PC off, put the card back in, then turn the TV back on. If I just reset the computer with the GTX 760 the display won't come back.

It seems as though there is something going on between my card and my TV but I cant figure out what. Does anyone have any suggestions? The rest of my specs are as follows.

i5 4440 3.1ghz
8gb ram
msi geforce gtx 760
seasonic 80+ 550W PSU

Thanks.

Sorry I mean't 50" lol.

The HDMI cable I use is 6ft, Ive also tried it with a 3ft HDMI cable with the same results. I've hooked it up to a monitor with a vga cable and it does the same thing. It almost seems like the motherboard has to recognize the graphics card as new hardware each and every time the computer boots up. Everything works fine it plays games fine and it doesnt overheat. No screen tearing or flashing display or PC shutting off or anything. I'm wondering if maybe the PSU doesn't realize the card is in there and doesn't send it enough power during startup unless the computer thinks its new hardware after I take it out and put it back in or something.

ya, that does not seem right.

If you bought the card at a retail store then I would probably swing by and try and exchange it. If you bought it online then I would have to weight how annoying the problem is vs how much of a pain/cost it would be to exchange.
