Hey guys, first of all i'll let you guys know right off the bat, I know nothing about sound boards or headphones software of any kind. That is why I will show pictures of what I'm talking about instead of trying to explain.
I got my A40's (2013ED) a few days ago, and the first day I got it I first tried it out with my PS4. Connected the optical to the PS4 and to the mix amp, headset to mix amp, and USB to PS4 everything worked like it was supposed to. I could control the dolby digital button the 4 EQ modes that the mix amp has and the volume. Then I decide to try it out with my gaming PC and I noticed I did not have an optical in on my PC. So I connected it just with the USB. I got sound but I couldn't control the Dolby Digital button or the 4 EQ modes and it also the sound was not great quality. Do I need an optical in to get the best sound quality and control the EQ modes? my motherboard is a MSI Z87 G41. Also when I just plug in the headset directly to the computer via the 3.5 mm it sounds better than through the mix amp.
