Will my cpu do ok for now with new mobo and ddr3?

as the name implies i want to upgrade to DDR3 ram as my 4g of ddr2 doesnt cut it..

I am thinking of this combo
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard

Kingston Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

for 244. at pcpartpicker

will my cpu be ok to use till next year when i can upgrade it and my gpu?

you have been using it until now so adding ddr3 mem setup will just add a performance boost to your current setup. make sure the memory is cl8 or cl9 if you cant find cl8 in your desired memory vendor and 2x4gb is really all you need for gaming right now. when you do happen to upgrade the processor go with the 8350 instead of the 9xxx series as they are basically just pre-overclocked 8350s and you can get your own overclocks to do that. and a aftermarket cpu cooler if you decide to go that route
