So just a quick one here, maybe a stupid question!
Just got this Reservoir Pump Combo, XSPC Twin D5 Dual Bay

Now I have the old G1/4 thread fittings from the other XSPC reservoir, this new one though has quite deep holes though, the fittings only screw in about 2cm, not even half into the actual hole in the reservoir.

Is that a problem? Do I need longer thread? I am thinking whether the water would get distorted as it doesnt travel through a smooth pipe but halfway along a drilled hole if you get what I mean?

Hope you guys can help me out. thanks !!!!

Nah, it shouldn't affect things too badly, don't worry about it. :)

I agree, shouldn't be a problem at all. Just think, your last bay only offered 1/4" of thread to hold the fitting in, that worked and the fitting didn't fall out. This one offers more threading, but same fitting fits the same amount inside the res. So its the same amount of thread strength as before.

yes, technically it seals it off the same way. only question is if there is so much more thread, is there a reason? I looked on amazon (UK) and couldnt find fittings with much longer threads that the usual ones

my guess is that with dual pumps, if you cranked up the lpm/gpm flow you'd probably want to have as much thread as possible in there. As far as fittings with longer threads? Don't know, maybe they just did that in case they ever came out with ones, or maybe theyre just hidden deep and only sold by very limited companies?

But anysays, if your using normal fittings, and theyre in there nice and snug, I personally wouldn't worry about it.

There are certain plugs that have longer threads - and in all honestly, they just probably figured that it was cheaper to just drill and thread the entire hole the same way.

This haha. Still as strong and the water will NOT get distorted; DO NOT WORRY!
