I'm turning an external hard drive to an internal one. But I can't get this stupid thing off (pictures below). I can wiggle it but it can't come off. I could tear it off, but will it damage the hard drive?

I googled by product and the serial number, I found my hard drive and I read descriptions about it and what it comes with (what's included), but it does not mention this thing that's stuck to the hard drive. I don't know the name of this thing or else maybe I could or re-searched better.

Watched this video about turning this type of hard drive external-internal, but it's for the pro version I have the dx3. Can't find anything on how to open dx3.

If you have the same exact one as in the video and took the side and bottom screw off then all you need to do is yank it off. And no there is nothing special about an external drive. They are just internet drives with a USB adapter and an enclosure.

There's no plastic screwed in sadly. I tried moving it, and it makes the "thing" wiggle a little, but nothing more. The only way I could remove the "thing" is if I tried to rip it off with all my strength. That makes me wonder if it's not supposed to be taken off. But why is it on the external hard drive in the first place?

(Me moving the plastic sides as far as I can.)

(How the "thing" is connected to the hard drive.)

Sorry the picture quality is so bad, too cheap to get a better phone. And thanks for taking the time to help.
