Sharing OS and SSD between 2 computers?

I am trying to find a way to share my one SSD between my desktop and my laptop when im away from home, I would prefer to share the same OS but im pretty sure that is going to be an issue with driver related problems. I go out of town once a month and want to bring my laptop with me and use my SSD in that laptop, anyone know of a way?

well, if you still have the OS installation dvd, you can make another partion and install the OS and the other set of drivers on it if you have enough room left of your ssd.

Well I do not need to share the exact OS on the SSD, more along the lines of using the SSD between the two. For example have Windows 8.1 Pro on my SSD that I use on my desktop and when I leave for the weekend pop it out and throw it in my laptop with Windows 7 Ultimate on it. Doesnt seem to hard but before I go digging for my install discs was seeing if someone else has done something along those lines.

IF it is ONLY data files, not programs and such... yes you can do that.
