Just helped a buddy of mine build his PC. Everything is running great, all the connections are fine, and everything is where it should be. Build includes
evga gtx 760
i5 4670k
4gb gskill ripjaws ram
1 tb WD blue
nzxt guardian
rosewill 630w green series
asus 24x dvd drive
The asus z87 pro
Audio works through hdmi out of the gpu, and also works through the cases front panel headphone jack. However when placing any headphones or speakers to the back audio ports of the motherboard, we get no audio. Any help or solutions?

Hi,
This may not be of help to you but may help someone else in the future when they are investigating this issue.
I have also spent hours looking at this problem and not getting any sound from my new Z87 PRO to my old pair of Zalman 5.1 head phones even after many driver updates and re--installs, scouring the web forums, etc.
Basically I had populated my three cables into the top 3 (side, rear & c/sub) speaker jacks and could still hear sound through the ASUS Realtek Audio manager as it hit the appropriate sound test items across the 5.1 sound - however I would get nothing from playing an Mp3 or sound from web e.g. youtube, etc.
If you plug into the Line-out (lime) jack on the bottom row get sound on everything :) when revisiting the manual this is indeed what it tells you to do as common item across ALL sound device scenarios, single speaker, stereo, 5.1, 7.1 etc.
Not saying there is a not a faulty batch out there but I don't remember having plug into the line-out jack on any of my other boards in past, but manual states this is the correct way.
Hope this is of help to someone. Regards

Hi davyruykka

How would you connect a stereo speakers and headphones and have sound on both simultaneously?
I have had this setup through 3 generations on Asus/Realtek. The z87-pro does not allow that.

In fact I can only output sound on the green/lime jack

Realtek software also does not detect when jack are plugged in, other then the green/lime jack.
