Been trying to figure this out now for 6 hours. Yesterday, Xbox live was operating just fine as it always has been. Today, it will not access the internet or LIVE. I have not downloaded, upgraded, or done anything different whatsoever.

I have it connected to my Linksys WRT54GS router version 7.2. I have tried resetting the modem & router, turning off an on the xbox numerous times. I ran the connection test and it says ICMP Error. I am getting error code 80151909 which means that my profile didnt download. So, i deleted my profile and tried again, but still couldnt connect to internet/LIVE. So, then I plugged the ethernet cable directly into my modem and the internet/LIVE work flawlessly. as a matter of fact i went ahead and re-downloaded my xbox profile.

So, what could that mean if the internet & LIVE works fine if plugged directly in to the modem, but craps the bed when plugged into the router? I have also tried wireless with the same outcome.

The computer, laptop, and 2 tablets connect fine through the router also so I am sure the router is fine?

Thanks for any help that is offered.

The Xbox 360 contains a separate wifi card that's behind one of the grills. If you watch a Xbox 360 tear down or repair video you will see it. 99% sure that either your card has come loose somehow or it has gone bad. Watch the video (the WiFi card isn't to hard to get to, re-seat it, if still doesn't work buy a new WiFi card from Amazon or someone else.

Well, this morning i unplugged everything from the xbox and sat on the couch with it while I looked up how to take off the grill to get to the card. I don't have the correct tool to do it. Plus, after watching the video of someone doing it, I am not sure if I should even attempt it. I have a "history" with taking electronics apart and them never working again. So, I just put all the plugs back into the xbox and turned it on for the heck of it, and now internet/LIVE is working fine. I will check it again later and see how it acts.

still not ruling out a possible loose card though. if it keeps acting up, i will find one of them tools and someone with more patience than myself to take off the grill and re-seat the card.

thanks for your help!
