Hi. I recently built a computer with an ASUS Z87-A motherboard. It boots a lot slower than I had hoped, especially since I am using an SSD drive. It also makes this annoying high pitched beep (sounds more like a chirp) when it boots up.

Q How do I stop the annoying beep?
Q Any suggestions on how to get a faster boot-up?

Thank you!!

That's super easy. Just disconnect the PC speaker cable from the motherboard. No harm whatsoever is done doing this. The speaker cable is very easily unplugged from the motherboard (just follow the wires from the speaker).
As for a faster boot up, try adjusting settings in BIOS (immediately hold down the del key after power on), and select "quick boot" or whatever your BIOS calls it.

disconnect each fan one at a time and boot, to see if its a fan and to isolate which one. i had the same problem w my asus m5a97 r2.0 when any fan was connected into the cpu_fan slot, (in between cha-fan1 and cha_fan2).
