I've got a machine running a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.00GHz with a Radeon 4870x2 and i'm considering upgrading my GPU to an Asus GTX 660 DirectCU O.C. Is this a viable upgrade, would it bottleneck or should i just consider upgrading the whole internals like motherboard and CPU?

Anyways, thanks in advance :)

i would upgrade it all, but you can always upgrade the gpu now and later upgrade the rest later after you see how it handles

then id go for it see how you like it, if you are satisfied with it then hold on to it a little longer and stash some cash for an awesome build. if you find you want the here and now then start upgrading....but if your already set on that gpu just pull the trigger and see how it runs in your current setup, just make sure your psu is compatible first.
