My PC gets ridiculously slow after downloading (Windows 8.1 64-bit)

Hello, I've built a brand new PC with the specs below and when I download anything the computer gets so slow that I have to force it to shut down. Everything else works very well until I download something.

CPU: i5-4670k 3.40Ghz
RAM: 8Gb 1600Mhz
GPU: MSI 770 OC
HDD: WD 1TB
PSU: 750W
Motherboard: Z87-G45 GAMING
DVD player

Hi, LiberalPipe! Have you checked the S.M.A.R.T. data for your boot drive (the Windows 8.1 64-Bit one)?

You can use CrystalDiskInfo. I have it on my system and it's easy for me to use.

I'm not completely sure what to do with it but it says the health status is good and the temperature is at 27 C.

That MB has the Qualcom Atheros Killer NIC. Go to the Qualcom site: http://www.qca.qualcomm.com/resources/driverdownloads/
D/L and run "Killer Cleaner" to remove the NIC drivers and the network manager. Then go back to the Qualcom page and D/L and install ONLY the drivers for your Killer NIC, DO NOT INSTALL KILLER NETWORK MANAGER! That is the problem!

I had a Quota limit the space to 10gb or something and by turning it off it seems like the problem is gone.
