Hello,

Having an issue with a HD7750 Ultimate (the silent one). Plug it in.... works.. PC boots up. Although I do notice some dodgy looking pixles on the bios flash screen... (which doesnt happen when booting with the dedicated graphics)

I install the latest drivers (not beta) and windows then refuses to boot etc.

The card worked fine wehn tested in old PC, and indeed worked fine in this PC. I have formatted HD, re installed windows 7 (home prem 64) re installed drivers... then flashed CMOS, tried latest version of bios... Tried pretty much everything I can think of!

As soon as the ard is out and I use the dedicated graphics on the board it works fine. So i'm guessing that it can only be a fault with the card or the motherboard?

My PC build is:
AMD FX6300
8GB 1600 Patriot DDR3 (2x4)
1TF WD
HD7750 Sapphire Ultimate
Gigabyte GA78LMT - usb3
PSU 500W OCZ ModX

I have ordered a R9 270X to see if that works, in which case I know its the Old HD7750. If the R9 doesnt work then I can assume its a fault with the MB ?

Am I missing anything ? Any clues?

Thanks as always for any help / guidance!

With the info you have, odd pixels at the bios screen and crashing on regular drivers, it's pretty much 100% the video card at fault. Good news for you is that you have a nice system otherwise and can do with an upgrade, forced as it was LOL.

I feared as much, and confirmed it at the weekend when I tried a old HD6450 in place of the HD7750. It worked fine, so clearly the HD7750 has had its time. I didn't really want to have to spalsh out on a new graphics card this month... but hey, the good news is the MSI R9 270X should be waiting for me when I get home today..... nom nom nom. Skyrim, far cry 3 and whatever else I have in my steam library ready to play in high settings... Excited!!
