so right now im using a wireless netgear device to play games, and surf the internet. the internet i have is 40 down and 10 or 20up and im not getting the full advantage because im wireless. i would use ethernet cord but i dont want cables all through the house because i have a dog and don't want him to chew on it. so is there something i can buy to at least put in my room and get the full advantage of my internet? i hope im trying to make sense here. if you do understand what im trying to say please leave a answer it would really help!

Providing you have a half decent wireless router / wireless network card there should be very little difference between wired / wireless (bar single in certain places around the house)

Be aware that even though a speed test might could say 40Mbs down, you will never really get that, The download speeds you will actually get will be limited by the devices you are downloading from (their upload might be less that 40Mbs with lots oe people connected to the same thing.

To increase the singlenal strength and range of the wireless you can always have a look at more access points (WAP)
