Damaged XFX 7970 3gb DD from eBay can it be fixed

I am looking at a 7970 from eBay the guy says it was damaged during shipping and returned to him. My question is can I just replace the cooler and use it? I can prob get it for $30-$40 does it look salvageable? My other card is starting to slip a little and with prices as high as they are now....

Well at that price I would take the chance. if just the cooler is damaged, which seems to be the case, then its easy to fix with an aftermarket cooler.

EDIT : something to note that is important, the PCB is NOT a reference design so finding a cooler for it is not gonna be THAT easy. But there should be a few available.
