My computer is outdated. I bought it from a friend, and I would like to upgrade to play newer games (Diablo 3 etc...) comfortably at Medium/High Specs. This is what i'm working with as of now.

PSU : Velocity Micro EP-850XP 850 Watt
Link : http://www.velocitymicro.com/SupportArticles/Article_500.php

CPU : DualCore Intel Core 2 Extreme, 2933 MHz

GPU : nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX 768Mb
Link : http://www.nvidia.com/page/geforce_8800.html

I was looking at these Graphics Cards, But if you can point me in a better direction that would be great! I was looking at EVGA GeForce GTX 660 Sig2 FTW,or EVGA GeForce
GTX 760 with ACX Cooling.

MOBO : nVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra Sli Reference Board
Link : http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_nforce_790i_ultra_sli_us.html

RAM : x3 2Gb Corsair XMS3 DDR3 Dual Channel
Link : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145218

Not sure why there were only x3 2Gb sticks of ram...

OS : Windows 8 Professional 64-Bit

Disk : 500Gb HDD Seagate

I would like to upgrade along the lines of Best Spec lowest cost if at all possible. Thank you in advance for the help and suggestions you have.

looks like you're actually running a quad-core there, so your CPU is fine for Diablo, but I don't know about other games. A 660 would be a good choice. 6GB RAM is fine for pretty much any new game.

It would help to know which other games you want to play, because Diablo really isn't that intensive.

I would also like to play Skyrim, Elder Scrolls Online, Call of Duty Ghost as well. I done Beta for ESO but my GPU was getting way too hot 84C is probably not good I assume I use MSI afterburner to watch temps etc...

I have the Evga ACX 760 and it's an amazing card. It is $50 more than a 660 but is more on par with the 660 ti. I would still get a CPU and mobo first, as your current cpu would bottleneck any newer graphics card. If you want to go Intel, I suggest an i5 4670k for best value or an i7 4770k if you want to do a lot of video editing. As for a motherboard, if you want to overclock like a boss, get an Asus ROG board. If you want hackintosh compatibility (running OS X on a custom PC, believe me it's worth it), get a Gigabyte board. I don't claim to be an expert in AMD, but their new APUs are worth looking at. The AMD FX 8350 is also good value for money.
