I'm absolutely unsure what should i get and if it's compatible. Not much knowledge in building computers. Any examples? If it matters the motherboard is MSI Z87 G45.
Also should I go for a lower clock speed if the cooleris too expensive

More about : cooler heatsink 4670k 60ghz

All that matters is the socket and case clearance. If it fits in the case and it has a socket 1150 option, the cooler should work. I recommend the Cooler Master 212 EVO. It's about 30-35 USD. You should be able to push that i5 above 4 GHz easily.

That pretty much nails it; make sure that the cooler fits your CPU socket and you have adequate clearance inside your case. Most aftermarket coolers like the 212 Evo are between 16-18cm in height, plus you should give yourself another 3-5cm on top of that. Chances are, you'll also need to remove the motherboard to install a backplate, which ensures that your cooler will remain secure when it's stood horizontal. It can be tricky, but it's only a one-off job.
