Hi,
I'm doing my first pc build. I would like to know if there is any way to use my windows 8 that came with my other computer as the OS for my new computer? I'd really like to know this because I don't wan't to have to figure out how to play games on Linux! Thanks in advance, guys.

Multiple considerations here:

Licensing - Did this Win 8 come preinstalled? If so, that license is tied to the original hardware. If it is a Win 8 that you bought and installed, you can install it on the new hardware no problem.

Hardware differences - Simply 'moving' (more accurately know as clone or migrate), you may well run into significant driver issues with the new hardware.

One license, one PC - You'll have 2 PC's, and one license. One of them will just be a metal and silicon box with no OS.

Solution - Buy a new OS to go with the new PC build. Then sell the old PC.
