I've bought this notebook with windows 8 and 8GB RAM and a really bad CPU. the CPU is rated 3 in the W.E.I. i need this notebook for my IT studies and i will be using it constantly.
my CPU model is AMD A4-1250 APU with Radeon (1.oo GHz)
my notebook model is HP Pavilion Touch Smart 11 Notebook PC
so should i just change my notebook?or if i just change the CPU, it's more worth it?

Thanks

Solution
Don't buy low end laptops with AMD CPUs (AMD calls 'em APUs) are they are more or less glorified paperweights because the CPUs are extremely weak. These AMD APUs are known as Kabini and should generally be avoided. They are based on the Jaguar architecture.

I recommend you stick with Intel for budget laptops. You should be able to find laptops with a current generation Penitum CPU for about $300 - $350 if you look around. At up to $400 you should be able to find a laptop with an Intel Core i3 CPU. These low cost laptops will not have a touchscreen.

I think the cpu itself soldered onto the motherboard, unless your skills with a soldering gun is so good you can precisely connect 559 dots that's no bigger than 1mm each to the respective places on the motherboard.

A APU (A4, A6, A8, A10) are only low power, low performance, low cost combined GPU and CPU for the 90% rest of the market out there. That means for Facebook, Youtube or FlappingBird, not heavy duty performance. Depending on what your 'IT Studies' entails, this might meet your needs anyway if your just doing research papers, reading electronically the material, etc. and nothing 'SQL DB' related on your laptop itself.

Laptops are NOT upgradeable, by design, to reduce the costs of them, and uniquely designed per make / model with a specialized way to dissassemble the laptop (no you just don't pull off one cover and boom there it is), that HIGHLY risk breaking components permanently.

If your that dissatisfied with the laptop either return for a exchange then spend the money on a proper laptop (ICore is the only alternative, and a i3 basic laptop sell as low as $249 at Walmart) that does meet your needs. There are MANY articles to read to help you decide what features you should look for, to meet your special needs. Just remember customization or 'extras' increase the price quickly as compared to the generic off the shelf model.
