I recently upgraded from AT&T DSL (which was dropping the connection multiple times in a day) to Comcast cable internet. I'm connected via a Cisco Linksys wireless router (the same one I was using for the DSL). The connection is working great and is fast and I'm having no issues with it, except I keep getting the blue box popping up that says 'Interent Disconnected: this computers connection to the internet has been lost" while the icon at the bottom of the screen and my control panel network screen both show I'm actually connected and I'm having no problems connecting to various websites, streaming movies, etc. Then after awhile I get the blue box again saying 'this computer is now connected to the internet'. Then after awhile the disconnect message again. I'm having absolutely no connection issues, it's just an annoyance that the 'disconnected/connected' messages keep popping up. What is causing this? My computer is an older Dell (about five years old maybe?) running Vista. I have my work computer and a tablet also connected and am getting no errors on either of them. So basically, I'm not actually have ANY connection issues, just these annoying messages.

Vista is a unsupported OS admitted by the Microsoft CEO as a 'Mistake'. That you WILL have issues with Vista that you won't have with current 'supported' OSes like W7 or W8. If the Dell is that old, it is past support window anyway, and many technologies on it would actually HINDER in comparing to a replacement system. If this is a laptop, they run as low as $249 for a i3 and would be much more cost effective (consider W8 off the shelf is $179) would be the best solution for your issue.
