Graphics Driver Update? - Manual or Let Windows Update do them?

So, Yeah

I have a REALLY OLD Desktop, Upgraded it to 4GB RAM and installed W7.

It has a Nivdia Graphics card. Cant remember which one.

Anyone, Windows UPDATE poped up with a update saying to update them

Do I Let windows deal with that?
or do I find them, and manuall do it?

Bare in mind I'm a Noob.

Can I ask. WHY?

Whats the Benitit? between that option compared to the others?

Is I get the wrong driver will it, **** my PC up?

Hello, that needs Java, and I don't need/want to install Java

1) On a Scale - 1-10 10 highest Rate my GPU
2) I don't really play on games, but on a rough idea what can that GPU run? Could it run, GTA San Andreas or GT IV?
3) I See sometimes people say, I have 1GB Graphics Card - I know mine aint 1gb but what is it?
