Hi
Can anyone suggest which slot should i put my graphic card. is it at slot near cpu (1st slot) or further apart (2nd slot)?
*im a little bit concern about the system temperature

current temp:
gpu idle-40c -45c
gpu load-80c-95c
cpu idle 45c-59c
cpu load 75c-?(maybe i think not sure)

here's the pc spec
mobo-gigabyte z77m-d3h
gpu-gigabyte gtx550ti
i7 3770
12gb ram
win7 64
mini tower case
24' monitor

thanks....

Gpu goes in the slot closest to the cpu. Your temps are a little high and may be due to the small case. How many fans do you have and how are they arranged (intake or exhaust)?

So the first slot it is right. Yup the case is pretty small....its a normal cheap pc case....I have 3 case fan. 1 at the topback 8mm exhaust and 2 side fan 120mm intake and no front intake or fan. But then if gpu in 1st slot. Does it effect the cpu with its heat? Sorry im newbie

Those fans should be enough for your system. What program are you using to measure the termperatures?

Yes, the gpu may have a small effect on the cpu temps, but not enough to worry about unless you have no airflow.

The best way to answer your question about which PCI-E slot to use for your GPU is to read the motherboard owners manual. The top slot is the full-speed PCI-E x16 slot. The other PCI-E x16 slot runs at x4 speed. Section 1-5 (page 18) in your motherboard owners manual gives you that information.

Your temps are pretty high. Are you using the stock cooler and is the CPU at stock speed? I would guess maybe one of your push-pins isn't fully seated. Can you verify on the back of the motherboard that all the pins are fully seated?

yup i know the 1st slot have x16 speed....but gtx550ti isnt a high end card so should it be enough just for x4 speed?
yes im using stock cooler and cpu at stock speed.....i check the push pin its all fully seated properly....maybe its my case too small.....
