Hello, I am upgrading my 550 ti to a 580, i wanted to konw if my evga 500w bronze rated psu is enough. i wont be overclocking any parts and my build without the gpu is only using 133 watts
Making arbitrary assumptions about your system, I got 461W from the PSU calculator at http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine without any capacitor aging. So, I'd say the answer is "Probably, but you'll be running it hard." It's probably okay temporarily, but I'd have an eye on a more powerful replacement around 600W-650W.

this is temporary yes, im getting an 650 watt soon any suggestions under £70
It'll probably work, but may cause some issues when maxed out if the PSU's +12V rail can't maintain a steady 12 volts at 80% efficiency. Does your Evga have a 6 and 8 pin PCIe aux connector?
