Looking to upgrade my current card. I want something that will last a few years. I dont mind spending $300-400 but only if it worth it given my current PC.

Specs:
ASUS CM6730
Intel I5-2300
8gb DDR3
1TB HDD
Corsair 600m PSU
ASUS 550ti

You have plenty of power for a single 770.

GTX 760 (EVGA ones are good in my experience)
or an AMD r9 270x heard good things about the AMD card never used one though. anything higher end your CPU would pose as a bottleneck

If OP has $400 to spend, there's no point in getting a 760 over a 770.

I know that but he's got an old CPU and it would hinder the performance of the GTX 770 I was thinking more along the lines of he could upgrade to and i5 4670k or like an FX 8350 at the same time
