No FPS Increase with GPU Upgrade

I just got the R9 290x and I thought I would be seeing an immediate increase in my FPS when I play league of legends. Before I was playing on a super old card, I think gt 240. I got 60 fps before and am still getting 60 fps now. Im not sure what the problem is. I have the latest version of amd catalyst installed.

Specs:
CPU i7 4770k
sapphire amd r9 290x
psu corsair 760i

Wow that was the fastest response to ever work. I turn vsync to always on in CCC and turned the wait for vsync option off in game. Now im getting 200-300 fps. THANKS!

If you get screen tearing, switch vsync back on. Locking it in at 60 fps is not going to make any difference in game play.
