I have the opportunity to get a EVGA GTX 570 1.2GB superclocked in 2014 is this a good deal? what sort of performance will it get on a 1600x900 20" monitor, will i be able to play games on max settings?

Solution
if you can swing an extra 10 i would go with this
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-n750ti2gd5oc
here are the benchmarks
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-750-ti-review,3750-9.html
and i would suspect you could get around 60fps on med/high settings at that resolution if not better

the biggest problem with the 570 is the 1.2gb of vram that aint going to cut it and it does poorly in this gens games

now do you have a pciex16 slot in your computer and a sufficient psu to handle a graphics card?

My friend offered it to me for £100 ($167.58) but i might be able to get it for a little less

oh yeah you will be fine and if im not mistaken these draw power through your mobo and not pci pin connectors. they are very power efficient. and glad i could help
