Possibly damaged motherboard?

Hi, I set up an open-air rig last night for mining litecoins. Since there's no power button, I had to "jump" the power by touching the PWRON pin with metal scissors (the handle was plastic).

The first time I did this it worked fine and the computer turned on. Then I shut it off for the night (long story short I had to move it). When I tried turning it on again in the morning, I accidentally touched two pins, the PWRON pin and the ground (GND) pin at once. The computer didn't turn on.

I tried again, this time only touching the power pin, and it still wouln't turn on. I'm worried I damaged the motherboard now. Any insight?

Your Psu should have short circuit protection.
To clear it turn the rocker switch off at the back of the unit.

Connect the power cord to it and the wall socket and turn the wall socket switch to on.
Then turn the rocker switch on it should reset the short circuit protection of the PSU.

If there is an initial short then that circuit will kick in.
And that is why on the second attempt there was no power.

The circuit must be reset in the psu. Seen it plenty of times. it`s to prevent any more possible damage.
as a safety feature even if a brief short like the one you did happens.

Anyway let me know if the reset worked, it should do.

Hey sorry for the late reply. Shaun I'm assuming though that short circuit damage over and over would eventually damage either the PSU or the motherboard. Even though I should only have to do this once to reset the BIOS settings, would you suggest I rig together or purchase a makeshift power button? I'm not sure how this would work, I just don't want to risk damaging the investment I made on this rig just to turn it on
