Build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/30b37

After a long while of hard work and looking to buy a comp, here in about the next hour I'm probably going to purchase everything. I just wanted to know, do you think this is a good build? See any problems? There's a few sales so I'm wanting to take advantage of that. I wanted to aim for an MSI card or Asus, but they're all sold out, and I'm willing to make due with an XFX. No biggie. First time build and I feel like it's time to buy it. Also I only want to overclock my CPU to 4.0ghz flat, is that safe with the stock heatsink? Think I can get away with 4.0 without uping the volts?

Soooo what do you guys think?

PS: I don't need USB front ports, I only use 3 ports 24/7 and once in a while the 4th for my phone.

what about take a look at mobo msi gd45 or gd65 gaming ? i would recommend an aftermarket heatsink since you have CPU to THE K! if you dont overclock it then it will be a waste :(

with stock heatsink, you could only get to 3.8ghz but it also depends on your cpu if you get a good one. however why not spend a bit more for an aftermarket air cooler like hyper 212 evo? :) anyways the build is good

I would suggest to get an aftermarket Heat Sink like the Cooler Master Evo 212, it's a very popular cpu cooler and it is the best for overclocking.. The build is solid I don't think you need to change anything at all.

Was thinking maybe swap around the MOBO. Read some reviews about Asus's z87-A, got me a little worried I'll get a DOA one or bent pins. I'm not into a big heat sink in the case, and I don't want too much of an overclock. I'm only looking for 4.0ghz. Don't think I can get away with 4.0 with the stock? Was really hoping so. Honestly think I should get an aftermarket?
