Im about to buy a new cpu, motherboard and graphics card. wondering if i should go 2011 or 1155?

i just recently brought new ram which is 2133 not knowing about the restrictions on the CPU so i want to be able to maximize my rams capacity. the 1155 CPU only says it goes up to 1666 or something like that.

so not sure weather its worth spending the more money on 2011 or go to 1155 ???

What is your budget and intended use for this build? It is usually not worth paying so much extra for LGA2011 unless your budget and needs are really high. Also, you should shoot for LGA1150 and not LGA1155. It's newer, and the cpus for it are better.

I didnt even thinknof 1150 as I thought 1155 having higher numbrr was newer.
as for my use I game a fair bit and I make videos of high rate motorsports. budget isnt overly high.

so you recon 1150 would be they way to go?

your ram is not a problem, if you have any newer motherboard it will run at 2133. yes, if your going with intel then you should get a z87 motherboard(1150 socket). what are your needs? the 4670k is a 4 core 4 thread processor that is usually more than fine for most people and costs about $220. the 4770k($320) is a 4 core 8 thread processor that does add up to 20% performance but only in highly threaded applications and in most games doesn't add much performance at all. it really depends on your final budget for all the items you need for your new computer.

If you're gaming an i5-4670k is plenty of CPU (socket 1150)

For mobo the earlier mentioned maximus hero is great but expensive.

If you don't plan on overclocking then the Xeon 1230 v3 + basic h81/b85 board is the way to go as the Xeon is as fast as the i7 4770 but cannot overclock and has no integrated graphics Whilst being cheaper than the i7 4770 and not much more than the 4670k
