Bare Drive??? What does that mean?

Just wondering, whats the difference between this:

Bare drive means that what you buy is only the hard drive, no cables, no software, or anything else that usually comes in a retail box.

The difference between the two is that the WD1002FAEX has two platters and the WD1003FZEX has one platter. The latter is also newer, explaining why it's more expensive. You can also read this:
