We have an old computer at church with a vga output. We had it connected to a projector and a flat screen TV. We have a new HDMI output computer how do we connect the new output to our old inputs?

Solution
Because HDMI is a digital signal and VGA is an analog signal, you'll need an adapter that will convert the digital stream to and analog RGB signal. Something like this should do it for you:

You'll also want to make sure the audio is selected for you laptop speakers or line out from the 3.5mm jack on your laptop to external speaker if you want sound.

Let me repharse that:

1. There is an OLD PC connected to Flat screen and Projector though VGA port
2. There is a NEW PC with HDMI output only
You want to connect the NEW PC to your existing equipments (Flatscreen and Projector), am I getting this right?

If that's the case, it is easy. you may get a HDMI to VGA Adapter.

Correct on the problem. However we get no image on the projector and the flat screen image has wave lines and is off center

If your not getting an image and you are using a device similar to the below device, most laptops require you switch your video output. Usually this is Fn+F5. Try pressing this combination. You may have to do it more than once to get through all the output options. So press the combination once, give it say 10 seconds to switch, if you don't get an image, try it again.

You also may have to manually set the refresh rate for your projector in your Display Properties. You wouldn't have to if your computer were connected directly to the projector, but since you have to use a converter, it maybe unable to detect the correct refresh rate. Usually the best is to start with the lowest either 50 or 60 Hz.
