First off I apologize if I am using the wrong terminology. In my house there is a family computer in the living room but I'm building a computer from scratch and it will be in my bedroom. The family computer is directly connected to the internet with a modem and it has a decent router so we all use the wifi frequently. I was wondering what I should do for internet for the computer in my room. Could and should I connect to the router wirelessly and if so would I need a specific part to do that. Or do I have to connect directly to the internet with a computer. Also there is a small hole in the wall that we made years ago that I could possibly connect to the modem with a wire. Thanks for any help guys.

Yes you should connect your bedroom PC by wifi, by far it is the easiest and quickest way if you have a good signal and you wont do things that require massive and very stable connection e.g. playing battlefield 4, hosting servers...etc. you will need a wifi adapter to connect to your wifi router, the adapter is available in different interface and form factor, most commonly USB, PCI or PCI-E.

If you have a poor signal, you may need to run a Ethernet cable from your router's LAN port to your bedroom or try powerline communication like Homeplug

I will probably be playing mid range games on my PC and will be running HD videos on youtube and want no lag at all. Also how much would these parts cost me?
