I have a Asus Z87 Sabertooth mobo with an i7-4771 proc. An overclockable mobo with a locked proc. But my sons new build has an Asus B85M-E mobo which is not overclockable. Was gonna get him i5-4570 but was thinking should I get i5 4670k and put my I7-4771 in his mobo and the i5-4670k in my sabertooth since mine is mostly used for gaming. Or should I stick with the i7? Any thoughts? Thank you for taking the time to help.

I'm currently getting about 60-70fps playing SWTOR on Ultra high graphics. hopefully that i5-4670k will keep me there, a boost would be even nicer.

thanks turbo i'm pretty new to this whole enthusiast thing, lol. I researched components night and day for several weeks then watched video on how to build a rig on YouTube for a week then built my first rig in 4 hours on first try. It turned out so well my son asked me to build him a new rig and is very happy to be getting that I7-4771 to go with his mobo. I'll be picking up the new CPU tomorrow so thanks for your help.

I'm really happy with my i5-4670k i have upgraded my PC from 7~8 years usage!!!
My previous system was Intel Celeron 315D (single core) CPU, GeForce FX-5500 GPU, and 768MB mixed no name RAM now my system 100500+ times faster than previous :D
