I am currently running a Intel 775 socket nVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI Reference Board. I want to switch to AMD, but im worried that if I do I would have to reinstall Windows, and I wont be able to access the data on that HDD. I assume that the cooling system I have for intel will not work either? Thank for all the help in advance.

Solution
The cooling system will likely work on the AMD too. Just needs different brackets.

Backup your data, you will need to install windows again.
