Hi Everyone,

I installed corsair H80i on my i7-4770k . I don't do any overclocking. Idle temperature is around 30 °C . But when I run prime95, the temperature climbs to 100 °C within 10 minutes. Is it normal? In the Corsair Link software, H80i Temperature is only 32 °C when the CPU temperature is at 100 °C. Any Idea what could be the reason for this high temperature? I installed the H80i with the stock thermal paste. Also, I could install only one fan for the H80i since the CPU is too close to the fan vent.

With Intel's stock cooling , idle temperature was around 35-39 °C and it used to touch 100 °C within one minute of running Prime95.

Thanks,
Jijo

Solution
If the H80i temp is only 32C when the CPU hits 100C, then it sounds like it's not seated correctly. I'd try reseating it with new TIM, making sure that it gets screwed down all the way, and then see what your temps are.
