Hi! I'm building my first ever gaming PC, and I have decided to go with an AMD FX-6300 CPU and a Sapphire DUAL-X R9 270 GPU - both intended to be overclocked sooner or later.

GPU: I want to get it somewhere around the more expensive R9 270X - which is only different by it's higher clock values.

CPU: I obviously cannot say what values I will reach, but i suspect 4.0 to be a good target, with aim to try higher. I don't want to reach some extreme values, so that it could also last me some time.

Now, the important stuff: Currently I'm looking at the Asus M5A97 R2.0 motherboard. As I said, the overclocks aren't going to be extreme, so it seems this one should be OK. My PSU will probably be a Corsair VS 550W. I'll also get 2x4GB RAM and a SilentiumPC Brutus M23 case, which has two 120mm fans. The CPU will get aftermarket cooling, probably a SilentiumPC Fera 2 HE1224.

What OC values do you think I could reach with such a setup? Should I make any changes? I'm on a budget and can't afford to spend much more, but if a different CPU cooler, better thermal paste, additional fan, different motherboard or anything else would make a difference, I'd love to hear all your suggestions.

Why dont you get a gtx 760? I asked your nationality because r9 270x is best buy according to Indian pricing, but the gtx 760 is best buy in USA for the price. So if you can grab a gtx 760 for the same price, get it instead. It is 10-12% faster.
