Hey guys, yup got this problem and im out of tricks atm.. Just got my new rig installed:

Intel i7 4770K + phanteks ph-tc14pe
Asus MAXIMUS VI GENE Z87
G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8GB 1600mhz
GTX 770
Samsung 840 EVO SSD 120gb
WIN 7 Ultimate 64bit

Anyways, i just installed BF4 to my pc, played for a while you know testing and looking fps :)
Now i tried to go back to server but it gives me "BF4 Has stopped working".

Ive tried everything, and tried to find the solution from google too aswell, without results so ill try from here now.

So i reinstalled the whole game ! IT worked well, now i closed the game and finished settings with BF4 Settings editor( shouldnt be the problem worked with my exrig and it says again "BF4 HAS STOPPED WORKING
Still weird tho. :(

AND It gives the error message immediately before youve getting to server.. THANKS Already guys : )

Solution
Well I wouldn't get stuck on "well it worked on a completely different computer, so it should work on this one". It may not have anything to do with different hardware. Could be something you have running in the background that's different. I was trying to distill why it worked once and then not the next time. The only thing different was that you used BF4 settings editor between it working and not working. Why doesn't really matter as much as find out what is causing the problem. Once your sure that it is or isn't because of the editor, you can troubleshoot it further.
What happens if you don't mess around with the BF4 settings editor? Will it launch successfully again? Of course at this point your either going to have to find the settings file and delete it so the game remakes it, or uninstall and re-install the game.

Admirable
is your card seated properly in its pcie slot, sitting flush in the slot? does any other games crash or is it just BF4? try shutting down all background applications that arent necessary like skype, utorrent, messengers, any apps like those. i have also read through some bf4 forums that say if you do a clean install of windows and the game it fixes it as well. have you tried any of the patches?

yes, its seated well :) hmm patches? can you tell some more?
Its funny cause when i reinstalled bf4 it worked well ( test range though but so?, stable 125fps without any problems) and when i closed bf4 / left testrange for 10minutes, after i tried to go back to testrange error appears and on the while i was just smoking a cigarette and taking drink..... dont understand

Sorry I was going with the last part of your post:

So i reinstalled the whole game ! IT worked well, now i closed the game and finished settings with BF4 Settings editor( shouldnt be the problem worked with my exrig and it says again "BF4 HAS STOPPED WORKING

So I naturally assumed it worked after you re-installed, and then after messing around with BF4 Settings editor it wouldn't run. Is that not what you said?

hm ill try to reinstall bf4 :) without bf4 settings editor this time! ill let you know if its working or not.

Now that you know what is causing the problem, if you're interested, you can troubleshoot what the editor is doing to your settings file that is causing the problem

I would find the location of the settings file (probably something like xxxxx.ini) make a back up of it first and then try using the editor to change one setting at a time and test for crashing. It maybe a certain change that causes it, or if could just be corrupting the file on the first change.

You could also see if there is a new version of BF4 Settings editor. Sometimes patches come out that make the old version incompatible with the game and the author has to update his program so that it works again.

True that, ive found that theres no newer version. Maybe ill just leave it alone, ill be fine without it :)

Anyway, many thanks to you ! :ange::bounce:

I found a fix that works for myself, hopefully it helps.
...I have had this problem for several months, I've reinstalled windows, drivers and BF4 only and the problem arises again with a SUPER clean system install. I have found that the issue is related to the GPU driver since a few releases ago. Im using 344.75 now and the problem is persistent only in BF4. But I did find a fix (it sucks but its a short-term fix).

My Specs: Win8.1 64bit, i7 4930k, 24GB 1600MHz RAM, Asus Sabertooth X79 mobo, EVGA GTX 670's in SLi, Single 144hz BenQ XL272z monitor. (nothing overclocked).

I pulled my hair out like a lot of PPL but I made a small discovery that does work well, except you need to do it after every reboot. Repairing BF4 made no difference since the issue was with the driver, also reinstalling directX made no difference, you'll chaise your tail with this but its not the issue (cant hurt to do it though). Also clean installations of the nVidia drivers seem to rarely work long term. I used BF4 settings editor but the game ran fine until the driver change. This didnt explain why the game still crashed on launch with a completely fresh install, with NO BF4 settings editor.

1. Start nVidia control panel (right click on desktop and click nvidia logo).
2. Goto 'Configure Sli, Surround, PhysX' settings.
3. Change PhysX to anything other than what your using. I alternate from CPU to Auto after every reboot. Then 'Apply'

The game should load now. Unfortunately the issue will come back after rebooting. Just make a change again in physx and it should work and continually until the net reboot. I've seen a lot of tweaks that are unsuccessful and never get to the root of the issue. As far as I can tell the GPU driver fails when the game loads and it may be related from having a multi monitor setup and/or SLi using DVI (IMO), doing a windows debug always points to BF4. I've removed my other 2 monitors and run single monitor but the problem still arises. By changing the PhysX settings your arbitrarily re initializing the GPU configuration (I know there's no PhysX in BF4, but the side effect of the change temporarily fixes the game).

Try this and see if it helps.
