Hi, i uninstalled a few programs from my PC,
Sony phone software,
Apple - Bonjour (Dont remember installing this so deleted)

After restarting my pc, the windows 7 startup screen appeared, then the welcome screen started loading for about 30 seconds then the screen turned light green/yellow.
No toolbar at he bottom, nothing works.
Tried a different monitor and still the same yellow/green screen after the welcome screen.

Tried starting in safe mode, still not working.

Anyone know how i can fix this?
Thanks

Did this happen directly after uninstalling those few programs? If so, then maybe as 13 says, a repair will fix your problem. However the fact that it does the same thing in Safe Mode is concerning. Do you get a mouse pointer? If you CTRL-ALT-DEL, do you get a window come up. Or is it just frozen?

Thanks for the reply's.

I tried the repair from the windows disk and system restore, neither worked.

Yes this happened straight after uninstalling the programs then restarting the system.
Everything starts like normal until the welcome screen, when the desktop is about to load it turns yellow/green.

The mouse pointer is there.
CTRL-ALT-DEL: the window pops up with some options, task manager etc.

Ok well that eliminates it being a graphics card problem I think.

Try this, boot to your desktop (what you have as a desktop anyway), CTRL-ALT-DEL. Bring up the Task Manager and go to the Applications tab and click New Task and type cmd. Once the Command Prompt Window opens type sfc /scannow . Let that complete and then reboot.

Just finished the scan. It said "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them"
It says i dont have permission to view the logs.

Rebooted, still the same yellow screen.

Sorry I should have said use CTRL-SHIFT-ESC, this brings up the Task Manager then do New Task and type cmd. This will launch the command prompt as administrator. That's why it wouldn't let you see the logs and may have been why it didn't fix the corrupt files.

Im not sure if Bonjour has anything to do with the problem, i was just trying to give as much detail as possible as to what happened before the problem started

That's weird, it should have run the scan. Did it give some sort of error message when it didn't allow you to run the scan?

Going for supper, run, bike and bed. I will check in with this in the morning.

It says "You must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility "
When the scan worked before it was in safe mode with command prompt.

Thanks a lot for your help "techgeek" its appreciated

OK, sometimes I'm a little scatter brained.

CTRL-SHIFT-ESC launches Task Manager
Make sure you are in either Applications, Processes or Performance Tab
Click File, when the drop down menu appears, hold down CTRL while clicking New Task (Run...)

This should automatically launch the command windows as Administrator.

Then try sfc /scannnow.

Hopefully we can get something from those logs, or it repairs the problem.

Since when is that task man? Ive always done ctrl alt del!

CTRL-ALT-DEL brings up the Windows Security windows where you can select the Task Manager, CTRL-SHIFT-ESC takes you directly to the Task Manager.

How he gets there isn't the big issue, I forgot to tell him to hold CTRL while clicking New Task. This automatically brings up the command prompt elevated to administrator.

I have the same problem. And I already follow the step from @techgeek but the only thing that came up is "you must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility"
Now, my screen still green. How can i fix this? Thank you btw :)
