Which version of Office should I get for windows 8.1?

I just got a new PC and I'm going to install Windows 8.1 pro. Now I don't know if I should get MS Office 2013 or 2010. There are a lot of mixed opinions on both, so I am really unsure of what I should get.

No real reason not to go with 2013. I have and have used both extensively. Visually, not a lot of difference.

But depending on how and what you use it for, one of the free office suite alternatives might work as well. LibreOffice or OpenOffice.

Alright, thanks. I think I'll go with 2013. OpenOfice is also a possibility, tho.

Which version of office have you got at the moment?? Wandering through Toms Hardware you will find a number of people still able to use their version of Office 2003
